Cottonising means shortening the flax fibre, making it finer and giving it the same characteristics as cotton.

Are mixed with cotton, polyester, viscose, spandex modal and other textile resources, mostly in a ration of 30% flax . Even spinning 100% flax is possible in certain cases on open end systems.

Price and quality are determined by the finenesscleanliness nd length of the fibre.

Variations are possible in colour: cream/natural (dew retted), bleached or wetted/oiled. Some spinning mills rather prefer darker fibres to highlight the rustic/authentic aspect of flax in their fabrics or knitwear as much as possible.
